TX Trump Rally Stirs Up Hate
"These prosecutors are vicious, horrible people. They're racists and they're very sick -- they're mentally sick," he said. "They're going after me without any protection of my rights from the Supreme Court or most other courts. In reality, they're not after me, they're after you."
(Donald Trump, TX. 1/29/22)
Former president Trump came to Texas this weekend.
He teased about his 2024 presidential re-election, offering sympathy for January 6th insurrectionists and stirring up the continued fears around voter fraud.
They came pouring in, the MAGAs, the republicans, the racists, the confused and ignorant, the angry and entitled. Abbott and others swore their allegiance and support.
and Trump, while often engaging in his well known “word salad” where nothing he says actually makes sense, said a lot of things that made too much sense. The quote above, perfect narcissism. Calling the Black prosecutors looking into his crimes racists… and then ultimately saying they are really coming after the people, not him. This has been a common tool in his manipulative, fascist game- to inspire that feeling of responsibility and violation in others… and asking them to rescue him, in order to save themselves- which means he then saves them. The cycle of abuse alive and well in this country in every way.
This rally coming on the tail winds of a huge white nationalist trucker display in Canada, with Trump flags, confederate flags an swastikas being flown high.
It is hard to find words to comment on the images we see flashing through social media and news sources. To begin to process the depth of the dis-ease that subsumes this country. and we are not just talking Covid, which is still sky high in Texas right now. So much loss. So much hate and fear and IGNORANCE.
The important thing is to listen. pay attention. and keep doing the necessary work.
