We seek a passionate and empathetic Freelance Activist Videographer to join our team. As a Freelance Activist Videographer, you will be responsible for capturing and producing compelling video content that shines a light on the issues that matter most to our communities.
Responsibilities:
Film and produce high-quality video content that tells the stories of those often overlooked or marginalized.
Collaborate with the content team to develop creative concepts and storyboards that effectively communicate the struggles and triumphs of our communities.
Manage multiple video projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and videos are of the highest quality.
Use your creativity to produce visually engaging video content that resonates with our audience and inspires them to take action.
Work closely with individuals and organizations in our communities to ensure their stories are told with sensitivity and respect.
Stay up-to-date with video production techniques and tools, and incorporate these into your work.
Work with external vendors and contractors as needed to execute video projects.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an activist videographer, preferably in a community-based or advocacy setting
Excellent skills in video production and editing software, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and After Effects or equivalent software
Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to create compelling narratives that communicate complex ideas and emotions
Strong technical skills, including lighting, audio recording, and camera operation
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and community members
Empathy and passion for social justice and advocacy
