OUR STORY AND MISSION

ABOUT US

Dallas Justice Now Names Adekoye Adams Head of Outreach

Mr. Adams will be deeply engaged with Dallas leaders to show them the realities the black community in Dallas community faces and the solutions an overwhelming majority favor.

Mr. Adams had the following comment on his appointment:

“As I transition to making Dallas my new home, I am keenly attuned to the aspirations of its Black residents for equality and fairness. The unfortunate reality of children being confined to struggling schools is unacceptable. We hunger for, and wholly deserve, the same educational privileges afforded to our wealthy counterparts.

Mr. Adams is particularly enthusiastic about shining a spotlight on Black-owned businesses in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. He believes these businesses are the cornerstone of economic empowerment and diversity within our community. Mr. Adams is eager to leverage his new role at DJN to amplify the voices of these entrepreneurs, showcasing their stories, achievements, and the remarkable products and services they offer. He views this as a crucial component of his work, as it contributes to fostering a thriving and inclusive local economy. Through his multimedia storytelling, Mr. Adams aims to connect these businesses with a wider audience, driving both awareness and support towards these vital community assets.

Furthermore, as our Outreach Lead, Mr. Adams will employ his formidable networking skills to forge and fortify partnerships that will bolster DJN’s mission. He looks forward to engaging with teachers, administrators and Board Members and Councilmen in order to give a glimpse to the road ahead for educational freedom and opportunity. His work will embody our relentless pursuit of educational freedom, business development, and safer streets, all while establishing crucial relationships that underpin these initiatives.

We are thrilled to welcome Adekoye Adams to the DJN family and look forward to the profound narratives he will weave, the meaningful relationships he will cultivate, and the indelible impact he will have on our community. His inclusion signals our unwavering commitment to fostering a more inclusive, prosperous, and secure Dallas.

About Dallas Justice Now

We, the people of Dallas, must come together and remedy the root causes of the institutionalized racism which we know is a plague on people of color in our city.

We are ambitious that by tackling the root causes of institutionalized racism in our city we can remedy the injustices we witness on a day to day basis like disparity in wealth and education and access to quality education. Every Black man and woman deserve to live their lives without fearing they will get gunned down by criminals or cops and also have access to the educational platforms which equips us for a brighter future.

OUR GOALS

HOW WE WILL ACHIEVE THESE GOALS

  • Direct action

We will call our officials, we will rally, we will protest. We will do what it takes to get the word out and hold wrongdoers accountable.

  • Coalition Building

We will reach out and build coalitions with church leaders, activists, and elected officials.

  • Research, data, & Science

We will be publishing detailed papers examining our findings about police unions, qualified immunity, discriminatory policing, and discriminatory education.
