Today, we honor these women and the fearlessness their powerful voices instilled in all of us.
Audre Lorde was an American writer, feminist, librarian, and civil rights activist. She was a self-described "Black, lesbian, mother, warrior, poet," who dedicated both her life and her creative talent to confronting and addressing injustices of racism, sexism, classism, capitalism, heterosexism, and homophobia. She was born 2/18/34 and passed away 11/17/92. Rest in Power!

Chloe Anthony Wofford Morrison, known as Toni Morrison, was an American novelist, essayist, book editor, and college professor. Her first novel, The Bluest Eye, was published in 1970. The critically acclaimed Song of Solomon brought her national attention and won the National Book Critics Circle Award. She was born 2/18/31 and passed away 8/5/19. Rest in Power!
