Unnecessary Violence, Unnecessary Bullets, Missing Education

"Why is it that giving guns is so easy, but giving books is so hard?"

(Malala Yousafzai)

This is truly an insane question we have to ask in TX and many other red states. States so quick to ban books but place guns in the hands of babies.

Even police barely know how to handle their firearms, as evidenced from the Kim Potter trial and the recent LAPD killing of fourteen year old Valentina Orellana Peralta- as well as the Garland shooting here in Texas where a another fourteen year old boy shot and maimed four other teen boys!

We even see the tragedy of uneducated gun practices on Hollywood movie sets, look at the recent accidental shooting of cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins by Alec Baldwin.

“Gun control? We need bullet control! I think if every bullet cost five thousand dollars, we wouldn’t have any innocent bystanders.”

(Chris Rock)

Education is the key to non-violence and freedom.

Limiting firearm or bullet access, including to police, would also help.

How many more innocent people, children, Black and Brown bodies have to die before this country will examine their obsession with guns?

We have never claimed guns should be banned, but stricter laws, more challenging access and stronger education is a necessity for all our safety.
