The Case for Ketanji Brown Jackson: Black Women do not need to Prove themselves

"... I can only hope that my life and career, my love of this country and the Constitution and my commitment to upholding the rule of law and the sacred principles upon which this great nation was founded will inspire future generations of Americans.”

Ketanji Jackson Brown was recently confirmed as Biden’s pick for the supreme court.

The first Black woman ever to be named, and still only the 6th woman.

Yesterday, a well known racist media host called out Jackson, asking for her LSAT scores (tests lawyers take)…

None of the other male justices or female justices have ever revealed this score- and considering the extensive education and experience Jackson has, the fact that this person even dared this request…

is pure racism.

Pure racism that says women, especially Black women, have to prove themselves to white men/people over and over again.

White men who probably could not pass the LSATs any way.

You need only google this brilliant women to explore her childhood, education, family, experience, the cases she has defended and fought against.

She is beyond qualified, beyond intelligent, beyond worthy to sit on this court- none of which should have anything to do with her race, but it does. She has faced adversity from the start, even a high school counselor who told her not to set her sights “too high” on Harvard…

It is disgusting that this is just the beginning of the racist attempts to discredit her nomination and possibly try to stall or avoid appointing her to the court.

Ms. Brown, and every other Black woman, have been facing this abuse their whole lives.

We see you, support you and appreciate all you have done and all you will do for this sick country.
