Police Prefer Fiction To Action: When will cops do their jobs?
Another day, another example of police unwilling to do the job of serving and protecting all of us.
A report out of California from 2017 claims two LAPD officers did not answer a call for a robbery because they were PLAYING POKEMON.
They were too busy playing a game to do their job, to serve and protect the community.
One minute they are killing unnecessarily, the next they cannot make it to a call because they need to catch a fictional character rather than an actual criminal harming others.
Is this what was happening when it took four hours last week in Houston for cops to get to George Floyd’s niece?
What will it take for police to truly take responsibility for their role? We have called to defund them, reform them and yet money continues to our into police departments and all we see is the continual outpouring of stories of police not doing their jobs.
*Note: the court did uphold the firing of the officers, which is something.
“They were fired after a police board of rights unanimously ruled that the two officers committed misconduct that was “unprofessional and embarrassing" and violated the public's trust.” (From CNN)
