Under the Hate

“I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain.”

(James Baldwin)

What remains when you get past hate?

What pain are we unwilling to face as oppressed and oppressive?

The inability to sit with fear, hurt, pain, loss is what is under most hate and anger. This inability becomes the fuel to justify violence.

Part of the root causes we must be brave enough to explore if we are going to create the needed change.
