Link Between Racism & Trafficking Found

As usual, we are not surprised when the “powers that be” discover that there is a link between systemic racism and well, literally every terrible thing in this country.

But, we are here to educate, share studies and findings that support our mission and for the first time, the US “discovers” (shall we say admits?) there is a direct link between racism and human trafficking.

“An annual U.S. State Department report released on Thursday said discriminatory policies perpetuated human trafficking, drawing a link between the two for the first time.

The United States has been re-examining its treatment of African Americans since nationwide protests last year sparked by the murder of George Floyd, a Black man, by a white police officer.

U.S. authorities have also warned of increased threats from white supremacist groups.

The report cited the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on human trafficking, as traffickers capitalized on the pandemic and governments diverted resources to fight the health crisis.
