Education Discrimination Allegations in Southlake
Three investigations were opened today in the Carroll Independent School District in Southlake Texas.
They all focus on their schools discriminating against students based on their race, gender or national origin.
According to NBC sources, “Southlake (is) at the center of a growing political battle over school programs, books and curricula on race, gender and sexuality that some conservatives have misbranded under the umbrella of critical race theory.”
The district claims to be fully cooperating, but as another affluent mostly white community who three years ago was supposed to make huge changes around their racist behaviors, but wealthy parents rallied to deny the reform- we are not holding our breath- especially since it can take months or even years for these investigations to be completed.
Instead, we continue to call out those who claim to be allies but will not sacrifice their privilege to make lasting change in our educational systems.
