Convenient Violence is White Privilege

As we continue to hear opinions abound about the Will Smith/Chris Rock event- one thing is abundantly clear:

White people have no business talking about this.

The heart of the matter is the harm done to Jada, a Black woman with an auto immune disease.

Regardless of your opinion about Will/Chris, if you are not a Black woman or someone who is committed to protecting and valuing Black women, your voice is not needed or wanted.

So many white people are claiming that “violence is not the answer.”

The academy itself is shouting they do not condone violence- well isn’t that another convent story for white supremacy.

What about when cops kill Black people? Where is your outrage? What about when you award white predators like Woody Allen? How many violent white men are part of the academy?

The academy itself is mostly white and has years of white violence, silent and compliance.

Let’s also come back to all the ways racism, disease, war are ravaging the world, many white people turn a blind eye to that but let’s get all puffy about a slap among actors.

It is gross. It is ridiculous and it is abusive.

Most are outraged by “violence” when it is convenient for them.

and until you are outraged by all the violence and harm being done to Black people.

You can sit back down and shut up.
